TEAM HISTORY
2005/06 (02/12/06)

After a tightly fought season, East's reserves managed to finish the season on top of the pile by a massive 11 points with Leigh Athletic finishing second. East only lost 3 games all season. They amazingly remained unbeaten on their own turf, only dropping two points with a 2-2 draw with Leigh Athletic.
To add to that, East brought home the prestigious Manchester Amateur County Cup, defeating Old Stretfordians 3-1 at Brantingham Road. This was after being 1-0 down at half time.
Everybody gives their best wishes for the team in retaining the trophies in 2006/07.

2006/07 (03/07/07)

East reserves started the season as they would have liked to by winning 13 of their first 15 games. But it was a sticky period for the champions during February and March with defeats to eventual winners Prestwich and 3rd place Leigh Athletic. It didn't get much better in April. East lost their other trophy, the Manchester County Cup , on penalties at the hands of Maine Road reserves. East effectively fell over the finishing line with a couple of sloppy draws but secured runners up to Heys. East did however manage to notch up an astonishing 102 league goals. Danny Williams contributed with a magnificent 43 making him leading scorer for the season. Skipper Simon Harrison also chipped in with an impressive 24 goals from midfield.
Regardless of James Blair only scoring the one goal all season (and that was in the last game) he collected both awards at the end of season dinner disco. His effort put into each game earned the recognition of his colleagues which won him Players player of the year. His efforts were not to go un noticed by the management which landed him managers player of the year.

Everybody gives their best wishes to the team for 2007/08.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
